Weight: 8lbs 1oz at birth, 20 inches
10lbs. 11oz at 1 month
15lbs. 4oz at 2 months, 24 inches
17lbs. 5oz. at 3 months
(We're going to start calling him Gigantor)
Eyes: His eyes are definitely a' changing. Dark navy at birth, it looks like they are most definitely turning green to a green/hazel. The Husband has blue eyes, I have dark brown. Apparently without drawing up a Punnet Square, green/hazel is a possibility.
Diapers: Still wearing size 2's although certainly not for much longer. We're still diapering his tush in Pampers Swaddlers and Luvs and we've been lucky in the blowout arena. He rarely pees or leaks through a diaper. We did try a short stint with Huggies Lil' Snugglers during Maclane's first trip to New Jersey and let's just say our experience was quite the opposite. Once we're finished with our current stash I have a feeling we'll be moving him up to 3's.
Clothes: It's official. Maclane is wearing all 6 month clothes. I've packed everything else up until that size. Not even 3-6 months are still hanging in his closet. We're talking legit 6 month clothes. Sigh.
Eating: I'm still exclusively breastfeeding and Maclane makes it so incredibly easy. Not only am I exclusively breastfeeding but I'm also only doing so from one side. It was around this time that we started adding rice cereal to Carter's bedtime bottle but since Maclane isn't too fond of a bottle at the moment (or anything else with a rubber nipple for that matter) we'll be holding off on the cereal.
Sleeping: We continue to co-sleep, much to my husband's dismay. He's ready to have "our bed" back but I can't quite give up the ease of pulling Mac over to me around 4 or 5am for his "nightly" nursing session. He's been typically going down to sleep between 10 and 10:30pm and waking to eat between 4 and 5am. After a quick nursing session and diaper change, he goes right back to sleep until 8am. He's up for a bit to eat and play and then he's usually asleep again until 10:30am. After 10:30am, he only takes a long nap from 1pm-3:30pm. He's been napping in his crib for a few weeks now.
Nicknames: Mac, Mac-A-Doodle, Mac-A-Rooney, Mac-A-Pie, Mac-A-Boy, FattyMac (I'm sorry about the last one but I just can't help myself).
Maclane Allen,
You continue to be the sweetest, easiest and most mellow baby. I know I say this a lot but you hardly every cry and you are always content no matter where you are. You smile all the time and have even begin to laugh on occasion!
You are absolutely enamored by your older brother. You just love to stare at him and he loves you so much. You've recently begun to blow raspberries at each other and it just melts this mama's emotional heart.
You're not doing a whole lot other than laughing, smiling, cooing and yelling just to hear yourself yell. Although you absolutely love tummy time, you're such a fattie that it's difficult for you to roll over, no matter how hard you try. You just can't do much with those chubba thighs of yours. It's okay though- we don't hold it against you!
You took your first trip to New Jersey this month and did amazingly well during the 4 hour car rides there and back.
You still refuse to take a pacifier but will suck on your pointer finger and middle finger at every chance you get. You have become a drool machine this month and it makes me wonder if you'll be getting your teeth a bit earlier than your brother.
You had your first sick visit to the pediatrician this month when you suddenly broke out in a head to toe rash. At first we thought it might be because I made you wear this ridiculously cute wool romper one day but it turns out both you and your brother came down with a case of strep throat. Despite such a terrible sickness and angry rash, your mood, sleep and eating habits hadn't changed one bit! Hopefully the ammoxicillan does the trick and you're better in no time.
We love you so much Mac Allen!

Such a cute little chunker! :) Isn't it nice to have sweet, content 2nd children to even out the wildness that is the first?!?! We have the same situation!
ReplyDeleteWe have he same with the we color. I'm dark brown and the hubs is blue, B hazel eyes
ReplyDeletehe is so stinkin' adorable! I can't get over those facial expressions either - so funny.
ReplyDeleteWe are expecting our little nugget in a week or two and I have kind of a personal question: Why are you exclusively breastfeeding from one side? Just trying to figure all these things out before she comes and rocks our world =)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I LOVE chubby babies and your little peanut is about as cute as they come. I LOVE those cheeks!!
Goodness gracious, what a cute chunker!!!! Happy 3 months, Maclane!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I'm curious... why breastfeed from one side? Did he just not take the other breast?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely precious. Those cheeks are to die for!
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute! I need to look back at Easton's weight, but they seem very similar. Easton skipped over the 3-6 as well and wore 6 months for a while. Never fear, he's a long slender thing now! ;) Good for you on the nursing! I'm proud of you! Especially one sided! GO GIRL!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to read how much he and Carter love each other...it eases me to hear of smooth transitions!
Way to go momma! You're doing a great job!
WHERE IS ALL OF THE TIME GOING? WHERE ARE THEY HIDING IT?
ReplyDeletehazel is most definitely an option! Like you and hubs, I have brown and hubs has blue... and we have a very hazel eyed baby :)
ReplyDeletecan he possibly get any cuter?
And sorry for the pacifier fail - have you given up completely on trying to get him to take it?
Happy 3 Months, Maclane! You are the cutest, chunkiest little baby and the spitting image of your beautiful mama.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hear you on the Punnett Square - I seriously had to draw one out to explain to family and friends how I have a blond-haired, blue-eyed boy when I'm clearly the opposite. I'm hoping that if we ever have #2 he/she looks like me! :)
Stop it! 3 months already?! And I'm not sure the Punnet square would explain TnT's crystal blue eyes...I have dark brown eyes and hubby has green/hazel. It's ok though, I LOVE my blue-eyed girls. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, mama! You must still be serving up the cream! He's adorable!
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute! And getting so big! My little boy is a chunk too, already in 12 and 18 months clothes at 9 monhts old.
ReplyDeleteAlso, my son has blue eyes even though my husband has brown and I have green. Weird how genetics works.
Wow 3 months already?! He is just the most precious baby ever! Happy 3 months to Maclane!
ReplyDeleteHe is friggin' adorbs. Love him!
ReplyDeleteHe is such a cutie!!! I love all of these pictures!
ReplyDeletehe is just to cute for words and I love his chubbyness!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, he is bigger than my 9 month old! Lol! What a beautiful baby boy!
ReplyDeleteOMG he is a cutie-pie! I want to pinch those cheeks of his!!!!
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable! My daughter was 17lbs 9oz at her Six month appointment. Oh my goodness, he is a big little guy!
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute, can't believe it's been three months! I have to ask about the feeding on one side as well...why?
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute, can't believe it's been 3 months! I have to ask about the feeding on one side too...why?
ReplyDeleteGoodness, that boy! Just adorable!!! Just cannot get enough!
ReplyDeleteI can't get over how big he is - I feel like Will is a beast but Mac makes him look tiny for his age!
ReplyDeleteI love the punnet square comment - I literally use these way more than I should! Ha!
Also - Alex has dark brown eyes, I have blue eyes, and Kate has a golden/ green hazel! So it is definitely possible!
Oh my goodness! The rolls...I die!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of the rolls. At 10 months Quinn is only 19 lbs! No squish for us womp womp.
ReplyDeleteI'm playing Saturday catch-up, and the sweet face is too much NOT to stop and comment. As a mama who just, emotionally, couldn't keep up with breastfeeding past 2 months the first time, I am happy you're doing it and doing it so well. I hope to have the same success the second go round!
ReplyDeleteIn other news: His facial expressions are hilarious (like you didn't hear that a million times), and HOW IS IT 3 MONTHS? Ahhh... :(
