Bumpdate: Full Term, Baby! {37 Weeks}

{37 Weeks}
Top: Old Navy Maternity Tank
Bottom: Old Navy Maternity Maxi
Necklace: The Britta Beads by Bridier Baubles on Facebook
Exhausted Mom Look: Yours truly

Total Weight Gained?: In the spirit of full disclosure (and perhaps to discourage me from getting pregnant any time in the near future) I weighed in at 179lbs at this week's doctor visit. This is the exact weight I was on the day I delivered Carter. Fan-freaking-tastic

I find some small reassurance in the fact that my ankles, feet and fingers have started to swell a bit- so I'm blaming a good 2-3lbs on extra water weight. Not to mention that I started this pregnancy 7lbs heavier than I did when I found out I was pregnant with C. Kudos for gaining less this go-round, but I do have to remind myself I have two weeks to go.

Here's a nifty little comparison shot with M2 at 37 weeks and C at 36.5 weeks. Try and draw your eyes away from my boobs in the second picture. I dare you. Holy hell..

Sleep: Horrendous. I'm up 3-4 times per night to tinkle and I'm up double that number of times to roll over and change sides. The hip pain is unbearable and I wake up feeling hungover and achey. Can I get a what-what?

Best Moment of the Week? I met the doctor who will be delivering M2 and I absolutely love her- she's forthright, sweet and incredibly funny. A match made in heaven, for sure. After confirming, once again, that M2 is transverse she estimated he'll be no bigger than 8lbs. on the day of delivery. I'm definitely smaller this time around than I was with Big Brother, so my official guess is 8lbs. 3oz.

The Husband and I also started hanging some of the wall decor in the nursery and the bazillion orders I've placed for things like personalized baby clothes, newborn diapers, nursing jammies and the like have begun to roll in!

Movement? Uncomfortable but he's still going at it. He continues to be really active throughout the day and especially right before bedtime. I've started drinking a teeny tiny glass of wine before bed some nights because the movements can be really painful/uncomfortable and we both need our sleep. Full disclosure.

Food Craving? Ice pops. Watermelon. I can't get enough of either.

What I miss? Beer. Skinny clothes. Walking like a normal human being and not waddling/walking like I have a giant stick shoved up my tush. The ability to bend over. The ability to walk up and down a flight of stairs without having to take a break halfway between the top and bottom.

What I'm looking forward to: I just cannot wait to meet this sweet boy. I cannot wait to snuggle him and kiss his lips and his nose and his toes. I cannot wait to see who he looks like. Every time I picture him, I envision him to be a spitting image of his brother. I just want to be a family of four already.

  8. I SO appreciate your honesty! At my appt 2 weeks ago I had gained 9 lbs in 3 weeks. I'm about 8 lbs away from the weight I was when I gave birth to CG, and I'm only 32 weeks! You really do look amazing, seriously! It's so hard thinking about that number...I'm tempted to tell the nurse I don't want to know at my next appt on monday haha. Oh, and feeling hungover in the morning is the best description. That's how I feel today...but without the fun the night before, ha!

  9. You look great!

    I think our boys were the same size at birth (9lbs 10oz) so I know how hard it is to carry a big baby! It's nice that this guy is a little bit smaller!

  10. You look fabulous. Try not to worry about the numbers (I know it's hard) and just remember you're in the middle of a miracle. I am guessing 8lbs'ish for my little dude (yes, I said dude...) too. We shall see. Cannot wait to meet you at the finish line.
