This is a personal decision and in no way do I judge anyone who continues to do so. I feel like I have to say that because if I don't someone somewhere out there is going to be all "oh my god, she just called me a jerk because I accept money from bloggers to promote their personal blogs" and that is not what I'm saying at all. In fact, I recently paid for ad space on this incredible mama's blog who goes well above and beyond the norm to amplify your content. I've only ever paid three bloggers to host my blog button in their sidebar and hands down she is the best. If you're looking for someone to pay? Pay her.
Blogging has changed so much since I started. So, so much or maybe it's just me who has changed. Regardless, I remember when I would wait and wish that one of my posts would be "retweeted" or linked to by a "big blogger." I remember the day that one of those "big bloggers," one of my absolute favorites, started following me on Twitter. I remember when she first tweeted a post that I had written and I about exploded with excitement but at the same time I was also so grateful.

I didn't pay her to promote my posts. To retweet me. To amplify me on social media. She did so because she read something that she loved and could stand behind it. I try to do this as much as I can but I want to do more of it.
And now that "big blogger" and I are friends and I laugh every time I think about that moment.
I guess what I'm saying is I no longer want your money to promote you, the blogger, and I'm sorry that I accepted it in the past no matter how successful our time together was. I don't regret it and I sure hope you don't either. I currently have one fantastic blogger in my sidebar and when her advertising contract is up in six days I will only be accepting ad space for independent sales companies and small businesses, like the ones you see in my sidebar.
I love finding new companies to promote that fit my "mommy/lifestyle blogger" niche who sell products that would be of great interest and benefit to my readership who is predominantly made up of expecting moms, new moms and seasoned moms.
