Before...
After...
No, it's not the iPhone quality of the last two pictures that makes Sullivan look a little bit "off." It's his new haircut. I think he's really mad at me. And I think he looks absolutely ridiculous. He looks like a doodle. Not that there's anything wrong with a doodle, but, c'mon! He's a sheepdog! I don't even recognize my own dog!
As I am sure you can see, Sullivan went for a bath and haircut yesterday. He was looking a little more homeless than usual and Hubs and I tried to stretch out the time between grooming visits from the usual three weeks to a little bit closer to five weeks.
What a mistake. Hubs and I brush Sheepie all the time. Every other day, at least! But his shag was getting a bit unruly. He had a few, I say a FEW, mats on his chest and some on his front paws, but nothing to write home about. Worst case scenario, I figured the groomer would just cut out a few golf ball sized hunks of hair from those areas and call it a day.
She had other ideas in mind. She shaved my Sheepie! Poor Sullivan. I really do think he's pissed. He didn't want to snuggle at all last night and kept hiding his head underneath the blankets on the couch. He's totally ashamed of his new 'do! Can you blame him?
I know I promised you CUTE pictures of Sheepie during my blog hiatus- and I promise to follow through- it's just that he's looking a bit goofier as of late!
OMG how cute is he. He does look pretty pissed though.
ReplyDeleteMy mom saved her orange Persian cat when he hat mats (he is old and stopped grooming herself) he looked like lion, it was hilarious. But until it grew back he gave everyone stink eye who laughed at him, he totally knew he looked silly.
I LOVE the haircut! Makes him look very terrier-like :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
lol!!! even tho he looks sad that his fur is all gone, he looks nice and fresh! riley im sure is very jealous. she probably looks at me thinking, woman when int he world are you going to cut this coat off of me!! the only problem is riley refuses to let anyone but josh and i cut her. poor spoiled dog.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!! What a huge difference! Poor little guy :( Hope it grows back soon!
ReplyDeleteLet Sullivan know that I still think he's handsome. The shorter hair makes him look younger (this trick sometimes works with my fiancee, so maybe it will work with Sullivan).
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how dogs will get mad at you? My moms Shih-tzu get pissed and will hide when he gets a bad hair cut too.
ReplyDeleteBut I still think ole sheepie is pretty dang cute (=
awwwww I remember when we used to shave our sheepie in the summer and he looked just like this!!! haha poor little sullivan. He still looks adorable!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteHe is still the cutesy dog ever!
ReplyDeletehow adorable is he?! I think he looks like a big well sheep!
ReplyDeleteOh poor Sheepie, but it'll grow back. My poodle hates going to the groomers too but he's so fluffy when he comes back!
ReplyDeleteAwww poor Sheepie! My mom gets her two dogs shaved and one of them is always ashamed afterward. It's cute and pitiful all at the same time!
ReplyDeleteI think he does look adorable - but pretty mad for being naked!!
ReplyDeleteMy dogs always seem super mad at me after grooming trips when they come home with shaves. I agree on liking the long hair better- as long as my dogs arent matted, I actually prefer they look a little messy!
ReplyDeleteI think he looks like the cutest, cuddliest thing around!
ReplyDeletehahah... these pics are too stinkin' cute! his face is just precious!
ReplyDeletei must admit, though, i like his shaggy, homeless 'do better, it suits him! ;)
Omg sooo cute..... was he upset without his fur!!! omg... xxxoxo
ReplyDeleteAwww, he probably feels nakey!! He's still adorable, though!
ReplyDeleteHAHAH!!!! Poor Sullivan! SO funny though. I bet he is cold!!! :)
ReplyDeletelove his haircut!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwwww he is freakin' adorable!!!!!
ReplyDeletePoor guy! I think he still looks adorable!
ReplyDeleteThe same thing happened to my puppy after her last cut. I told the groomer to do what she had to to get the mats out of her stomach.. which ALWAYS happen because she lays down so much, I'm assuming. She came back looking like a drowned rat instead of her normal fluffy self. So this time I waited to take her, until an incident the other night forced me to take matters in my own hands. I groomed & bathed her myself! And it turned out awesome! Considering how big yours is that probably wouldn't be such a good idea, but hey, at least it will grow out. =]
ReplyDeleteI think he's still precious!!! Our dog loves getting shaved down. But only in the summer. He gets pissed if you do it in the winter!!
ReplyDeleteAwww, he's still so cute!! I prefer our malti-poo and labradoodle to have the curly shaggy hair, but the shave is so much more manageable. And the husband likes the short hair. Either way - your pup is still a cutie!!
ReplyDeleteUm, wow... he is too cute! I have to admit~ although my pup hates it, I love getting her shaved because she's just so adorable afterwards :).
ReplyDeleteI have a standard poodle. I prefer her hair at least four inches long. I like her poofy and call her my little sheep dog when her hair gets longer all over. Whenever I take her to the groomer every three months or so, she get the traditional poodle cut. I know she thinks she is pretty and I tell her so, but inside I can't help but miss the cotton ball look.
ReplyDeletewe took our shih tzu for a haircut 2 weeks ago and i was MAD. we told them to cut short around the face because her hair was in her eyes. but only a trim for the rest of her body. they gave her a freakin' summer cut, almost shaved. she looked like we don't feed her.
ReplyDeleteend bitter rant. lol.
your dog is still major sweet looking though, so that works in his favor!
Holy crap, what did you SAY to her? LOL! I would have been half laughing, half LIVID!
ReplyDeletePoor pup. But it will grow back.
