"Oh What Fun It Is To... Cook!"

Today I'm linking up with the darling Molly from over at Duchess of Fork! She is a wonderful Mama to a beautiful baby girl who has some ah-mazing talent in the kitchen! Molly, that is. I mean, I'm sure her daughter will grow up to be a kitchen wonder as well, but for now, you won't want to miss the recipes that Molly shares! Did you read all about her latest cookie swap? Grab a glass of milk, you won't want to miss it!

In the mean time and in with keeping with the theme of this week's "Oh, What Fun It Is To...." Link-Up, I wanted to share with you a delicious cookie tradition recipe in the M family. My Mama has been making these holiday cookies for years and they are just my absolute favorite! Who knows, maybe they'll be a favorite in your home, too, this holiday season!

"Mama M's Nut Ball Cookies"
(Unfortunately, I know these have a better name but this was all I could think of at the moment...)

What You'll Need:

1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup ground pecans
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 1/4 cup cake flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
extra powdered sugar

What You'll Do:

Stir together pecans, butter, 1/2 cup powdered sugar and vanilla, mix well.

Sift flour and salt, stir into nut mixture. Chill.

Roll into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in the extra powdered sugar. I've never been a fan of the saying "less is more" and I believe it never applies to powdered sugar.

Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 F until set but not brown, 8 to 10 minutes.

Do not over-bake these cookies or they will fall apart!

I promise you they are not overwhelmingly pecan-y. They're more.. vanilla-y with a subtle hint of nut. Perfect in my book, if you ask me!

So, what are you waiting for? Share your favorite holiday recipes with us and go link up over at Molly's blog, Duchess of Fork
