Fancy Up Your FitBit: Jewelry Designed to Enhance Your Fitness Tracker and Make Fitness Fashionable

Bzzz. Bzzz. Bzzz. Bzzz.

You feel the buzz on your wrist and you realize you've just hit your step goals for the day.

"Yesssss," you think to yourself as you breathe a giant sigh of relief.

Not only did you do so without having to do jumping jacks at your bedside before going to sleep for the night, while your spouse stares at you with crazy eyes, (not that I would know anything about that...) but you also managed to do so long before 5pm which makes you feel like even more of a fitness tracker #winner.

Did I mention you logged even more steps than ______ (insert name of that friend you don't really like but you're friends with just so you can log more steps than her)?

#AllThePraiseHands

If you're as addicted to logging your steps and syncing your sleep cycles as I am but hate that your fitness tracker doesn't necessarily transition with you from workout mode to casual street chic mode, then this fab find is for you.

Prior to learning about Bytten(TM) from a reader of mine, I was *thisclose* to purchasing the only other piece of jewelry I was familiar with that was designed to transform an exercise tracker into a super chic accessory. Since the piece was rather pricey, I spent weeks analyzing any and all reviews I could find on the matter. Needless to say the reviews weren't that stellar and as desperate as I was to find something a bit jazzier than the plain ol' elastomer band, I wasn't prepared to drop well over $100 on something that was described as "bulky, uncomfortable and downright annoying."

Thankfully a reader of mine stepped in and mentioned that she continually receives compliments on her bytten slide and that it was totally worth checking out. Without hesitation I hopped on the bytten(TM) website and was immediately smitten with the size, sleek design and overall appearance of the product.

So smitten, in fact, that I purchased the Lucas slide for my FitBit Flex THAT NIGHT with my own big girl money and couldn't wait for it to arrive on my doorstep. Now if that isn't an endorsement for a really amazing product, I don't know what is.

Since I've started wearing the slide, people have stopped me while on runs, at the playground with the boys, in the checkout line at Target and even during a date night out in a fancy restaurant to inquire whether I was truly wearing one of those "workout bands" or if it was a different piece of jewelry all together.

Each time I'm questioned, I am more than happy to oblige and tell them all of the things I love about the bytten(TM) slide for my FitBit.

First and foremost, I love that it's something that I can wear whether I'm working out or hanging out. With it's low profile design, I don't need to remove the fitness tracker from the slide once I'm ready to go for a run- I can just lace up and hit the pavement. It doesn't rub or irritate my wrist, nor does it interfere with any of the usual movement of my wrist. Since the slide is also a lightweight metal accessory that slides over the existing exercise tracker band, it isn't at all obnoxiously bulky or heavy.

The slide is so comfortable that often times, I don't even remove it when I climb into bed at night. After all, that's one of the very first reasons I started wearing my FitBit- to monitor my sleep cycles and confirm the obvious- I am a terrible, absolutely horrible sleeper. The only time I recommend not wearing the slide is in the shower- however it may just be personal preference as I tend not to wear any of my jewelry in the shower.

The bytten(TM) slides are available for most of the exercise trackers on the market, including but not limited to the FitBit Charge, HR, and Flex as well as the Jawbone UP.

It also comes in a variety of designs as well as metals (rose gold, brass, sterling silver) and funky colored plastics. You can see some of the designs here: The Lucas, The Matisse, Custom Chisel Initial (because who doesn't love a good monogram??!).

Jodi, the founder of bytten(TM), is also a totally rad individual. I should know as I've worked very closely with her over the course of the last several weeks to bring you something pretty freaking cool (spoiler alert: it's a giveaway!!).

Here's the thing about Jodi- she LOVES her product and she LOVES her customers. It's evident within the first exchange of emails and glaringly obvious the more you talk with her. She's also the epitome of form meets fashion and function. She got engaged on top of Mt. Kilimanjaro and apparently owns, like, a million pairs of shoes (SATC-style). Clearly she speaks my love language.

But back to bytten(TM) and why I want everyone to  know about this amazingly functional, fabulous and fashionable exercise tracker accessory- it's a great product. It does exactly what it sets out to do and it does so exceptionally well. It transforms that dull, every day exercise tracker into a super chic accessory. One that can easily transition from work to play and night to day. It's comfortable, it's lightweight, it's functional and it doesn't cost a bazillion dollars.

Currently, all bytten(TM) slides should be paired with FitBit brand bands. Since there are SO MANY third party bands on the market, it's nearly impossible to test the fit and quality of the bands in relationship to the slides and sometimes the different composition of the third party bands may interfere with the finish of the slide itself.

Therefore, it is recommended that all slides be worn with a FitBit brand band. That said, I have worn mine with one of those third party bands from time to time and I haven't noticed any issue. However, just because I'm a rule breaker doesn't mean you should be too. I would encourage you to wear yours with a FitBit brand band as well!

Now for the BEST PART. Jodi and the bytten(TM) team have graciously decided to give away a Lucas slide in brass to ONE lucky ILYMTC reader. If you complete the first mandatory entry in the giveaway widget below, you will also receive a DISCOUNT CODE to be applied on your bytten order, should you decide to place one.

The giveaway will run until October 9th, 2015. See terms and conditions below. Good luck to all those who enter!

  1. So glad you posted, I was looking at Fitbit bands today. Mine is about broke and I thought I would get something a little more fashionable this time instead to the standard black. :)

  2. I'm so sad that I missed this giveaway! I have the same issue with my Fitbit. It's not band, but not exactly matching with the rest of my outfit/jewelry!
