Take A Minute And Say Hi To Me.

Every so often I get really freaked out about how much I share here on this blog. On the Internets. I try to keep my last name to myself. My address, my social security number, etc. But for the most part, like this blog, both myself and my family read like an open book.

Which means once every two years or so I have a moment where I get really freaked out about how many of you out there read my blog and never, ever leave a comment. It's like people watching, an activity I love whole-heartedly, but worse.

It's like you're watching the same person over and over and over. And over. And over. Not saying anything. Just staring. For days.

And that moment hit me like a ton of bricks this week, folks.  Creepers.

I'm so thankful you point your browser to me each day. Really, I am and I would be a huge, chubby liar if I said that I blogged only for myself because, let's face it, if that were true I would turn this blog private and continue to journal my thoughts elsewhere, away from the discretion of others. But that's not the whole truth.

I blog for you, too, and although I may do not reply back in a timely manner, I love getting your emails. Your comments.

Recently, after proclaiming on Twitter something about how I was "going to do the Great Clean-Up of 2013" and rid myself of those who lurk and could very well  be planning to show up on my doorstep one night with a bottle of Moscato and a meat cleaver, a few of your stepped forward and said hi.

I even received a couple emails, one of which made my morning. (Hi, Melissa!)

I would love for you to say hi. Tell me where you're from, when you started reading. Do you have your own blog? Am I a complete and utter moron for not reading it?

What more do you want to know about me? I'm sorry if I curse too much.

I really like the F-word. It's terrible and un-ladylike and I'm working on it.

I like the insides of my pancakes to be kind of raw and gooey.

I absolutely must put my socks on before I put pants on.

I cannot drink the last of anything in it's container. This goes for juice, the Brita and especially milk. But I can and will drink the last of the wine.

Please don't be shy. I'm really no different than you or your neighbor except I'm just crazy enough to share my life on the Internet.

Thanks for being the best Loyals a girl could ask for.

  1. Hi! ;) I'm not sure if I've followed for a year...or if I've ever left a comment. I may have, but who knows. Anyway I am the same with the last of the something I'm drinking. Will not drink it no matter what and it drives people in my family insane for some reason. I too enjoy the F-word far too much. I was only mildly worried itd be my daughters first word. Luckily her vocabulary has grown enough to where it might be maybe #20? ;) more about me...I'm from Southern California I do blog, but haven't in awhile due to Internet issues. I'm over at ashliecunningham.com, so nice to meet you and I'm glad I am no longer a lurker such a relief. ;)

  2. I probably get 1/20th of the hits you get a day but it still freaks me out when a post gets a TON of hits and only 10 comments haha but I guess that's what we get for being bloggers and pouring our hearts and lives out onto the Internet. I wouldn't change it for the world, though! I love this community.

Thanks for always being real with us, AP!

  3. Hi hi hi! I agree with you about the browswers and creepers. It is scary if you think about it. Oh well wont stop me from bloggin :)

  4. I've commented a couple times, but I will officially say HI! I had a moment recently where I was like "where are all these people coming from"! Haha. I'm from Massachusetts. Newly married, new homeowner, no kids (for now). I blog over at "Down at Fraggle Rock" (http://downatfragglerock13.blogspot.com). Feel free to stop by and say hi, but in no way feel like you have to. I'm not writing for a follow-back, just writing to say I'm only a semi-creeper who would probably show up with a bottle of Moscato, but no meat cleaver! Haha. Been reading for a month or so, and I think you are HYSTERICAL! And make me feel better about my own tendency to drop the f-bomb! OK... longest comment ever! Bye!

  5. Love reading your blog AP! You are real and fun and a great mom!! We are both Nova grads and I think we'd be wine buddies if you were still on the Main Line!!

  6. Ahh, I just wrote a comment and my iPad froze up and I lost it.

Anyway, hi AP! I don't comment enough. I love your posts, especially on house projects, anything on your boys, and recipes (your crock pot BBQ chicken sandwiches are in our meal rotation! Delish!).

  7. Hi, AP!
This post is too funny! I often wonder how many people read my blog too and I rarely get comments.
I've been reading your blog since just after baby Mac was born. I found you on IG from a friend of a friend and have LOVED watching your boys grow up. I too have a little one on the way (my first! - also a boy!) and can't wait to put some of your advice into play. I love love love reading this blog because you are always "keeping it real!" and that is something I can really get behind. You go girl!
Much love and blessings to you and your sweet family!

  8. Hey, AP!

I love your blog and cute kiddos. But I really like Sheepie, I am not really a dog person even though I have a toy poodle that I personally think he will out live me, ha! Anywho I am Stormy and blog over at itsmeagainmargaret.com I am not a daily blogger but more of a blog reader. I wish I was better at the daily things with my two kiddos on the blog maybe one day! Hope you have a great weekend!

  9. I'm totally guilty of this, I read every day, and comment not so much. Total creeper. Ugh. Sorry. I blog over at Adventures With Gwen jasovskybaby.blogspot.com. Fellow Jersey Girl. Wine lover. And F-Bomb dropper. I swear my 2 year old will be saying it any day know. I appreciate how open you are and your blog is one that I def admire.

    Thanks!

  10. Hi, AP! :)

I've commented a few times but will take a few to officially say hi! I am a wife of 6 years, a mom to 2 (ages 2 & 3), and a newly minted doc. Not the kind that treats patients and makes a lot of money, rather, the kind that digs through mounds of literature and spends all-nighters in a creepy lab somewhere. I [try to] document our busy lives on my own blog but am usually playing catch-up.

Thanks so much for sharing your life with us, your sweet boys, and your humor! I rarely read a post of yours without a smile or chuckle.

    Happy Friday! :)

  11. Hi!! I have commented a few times but I guess I am shy because I don't comment much. I have a blog but am def not a writer so you aren't missing anything ;) I love reading because you kill me from laughing so hard! You always keep it real and are honest. As a mom, I can relate a lot and that makes me feel better on those rough days! I won't stalk you IRL though!

  12. Hey AP :) It's Whitney (aka whitneymeade from Instagram). Once upon a time (for the last 4 years), I blogged at the Meade Feed, but decided to take a break back in October. So I'm just a blog consumer these days. In real life, I live in South Carolina (in the same town with Megan from Perfectly Imperfect) and my hubs and I run a Christian Rock radio station called Radio Free Florence and a video production company. Most of the time, I'm reading in Google Reader so I'm not clicking through to post - but I'm most definitely reading! xoxo

  13. I'm pretty sure I'm not a creepy lurker because I've commented/tweeted/etc before, but I'm Rachel and I'm near Charleston, West Virginia. I have been reading since before you had Carter, which was also right before I had Connor. I enjoy reading your blog because it's comical and you like the f-word. I like it, too. You're right, it's unladylike but whatever - I just can't help but like it.

And I cannot believe you put socks on first - they always go on after. ALWAYS. I don't drink wine (I know, that's like a sin around these parts, no?), but I can't stand to drink the last of anything either. Who KNOWS what is swimming around in that last 1/4 inch of liquid! I so enjoy reading here every day. Keep on doing what you do! :)

  15. I'm not a big commenter, but I promise I'm not a scary creeper! I found you on Instagram and then started following your blog. I love how real you are and I love that you love the F word! :) You are one of my favorite bloggers! Don't change a thing!

  16. I put my socks on before my pants. I don't like to mint my chocolate, and before I got pregnant, I couldn't imagine anything better than hazelnut coffee. Now? I crave peanut butter but won't come anywhere near that type of coffee because it smells like peanut butter.

    Hormones. What can I say?

Nice to meet you. I'm Crys, by the way. And I do have a blog--which you are welcome to visit or not: alifeinordinary.blogspot.com

  17. What a genius post. Hi. My name is Katie and I'm one of your newer creepers. That came out wrong- I meant followers. I'm guilty of not commenting until today and am grateful you called us out and gave me the opportunity to say hi.

I'm a 35 year old wife to my high school sweetheart, mama to one crazy toddler with our 2nd IvF miracle due in August, lover of the F-word, be it in written or spoken form, and wouldn't polish off the last sip of milk if you paid me. I'm from NJ but recently transplanted to OH for my husband's job.

I love your blog. You keep it real and it keeps me coming back. I do blog. I proudly have 60 followers. ::blush:: Would love to have you as 61. Everybody starts somewhere, right?

  18. I think we know each other ;) well online that is. btw how would you get rid of creepers on the blog? you can't right? cuz between the number of comments per post versus number of hits.....I'm going with majority creepers. I'm desperately hoping they won't show up at my door step with a meat cleaver...

  19. Hi, AP!
I've been a follower for a few months now, but don't comment very often. I am a fellow blogger over at The Newly (www.the-newly.blogspot.com) I found your blog through a post a while back by Erin at Blue Eyed Bride, and just loved your honest take on motherhood and life in general. Your posts have become even more relevant to me recently, as my husband and I are expecting our first child this summer - a little boy! Seeing as how you are a 'boy mom', I find myself clicking over to your page daily to find out what you've got to share. Also, just as a side note: sometimes I, too, get freaked out by the amount of people who don't comment. I think it's just part of being a blogger - people want to read what you have to say, but don't always have anything to say in response (or don't take the time to formulate one!) Anyways, just wanted to pop in and say hi since I've been guilty of reading and not commenting here on your blog myself! Hope you have a wonderful weekend:)

  20. Hi! I read your posts too! I'm not a good writer, therefore I don't write lengthy posts on my own blog. I mostly post photos. I've been reading your blog since Mac was about two months old. I like my pancakes the same as you. I love the F word but I don't use it anymore. And I also love to finish off wine. I live in southwestern Michigan. Actually I live in a beach town on the Lake Michigan (90 minutes from Chicago, 60 minutes from Grand Rapids, 30 minutes from South Bend) Very Nicholas sparks-ish.

Thanks for being real and not one of those "my-life-is-so-freaking-perfect moms". Gag me. I just want to says to those moms that it's more exhausting trying to pretend. Whoops-that turned into a bit of a rant. Anyways, you get my point! Have a great weekend!

  21. I've been reading your blog for about a year now. I love reading your posts, you always make me laugh. I have two kids like you, only I have girls. Mac is two months older than Olivia and I really enjoy reading your posts about him. I also like the F-word and the B-word but I don't say it around my children. Obviously. I tried to blog but I just can't get it together to regularly post.

  23. Well hi there. I'm Rachel @ The Newly Navy Newlywed. I've been following you for probably about a year now. I love your honest way of telling lif how it is. It's a refreshing read instead of the "I have a perfect life, perfecct kid, I'm the perfect mom" type blogs that are out there.

  24. Hi :D
I started reading in the last few months. I don't remember when or how I found your blog (can I blame that on my 6 month butterball who thinks sleep is for losers?), but I'm awful glad I did.
I am a super creeper in that I read via an rss feed, and thus rarely even visit your site.
Anyway... I'm currently living in Germany with my husband and afore-mentioned tiny person. I do blog (sorta) at alifeofdelight.blogspot.com and I promise to not show up with Moscato and a meat cleaver.

  25. Hi! I'm Lauren from Georgia. I've been reading for...about a year? I have two boys, too. A 3 year old and an 11 month old. I've been trying my hardest to comment on more blogs lately. I love it on my own so I need to get better! I also follow you on Twitter so I'm one of those crazy lurkers. Ha! I enjoy reading!

  27. Oh my goodness, I am so glad you posted this! I have the same urge every few months -- it is a yucky feeling, but it always passes. I am still debating getting a P.O. Box though, they are super cheap and may take some of that feeling away.

  28. Hi! I've been reading for about a year and have commented a few times. I also follow you on IG. I'm also a boy mom (just one for now). Grew up in MD (Gaithersburg) and now line in NOVA. Your blog has quickly become one of my favorites.

  29. I'm a "lurker" who has never left a comment. I agree with you on how weird it is to get a ton of hits and just a fraction of the comments. But I do love reading about your life and kiddos, and would love to show up with some wine and just visit! Have a good day :)

  31. Hi! I recently found your blog during a giveaway. I understand the worry about creepers. My blog (13point1milestodisney.com) only has a handful of followers but a bunch of readers. Sometimes I wonder who all of those other people are and why they don't say hello.

  32. Hey AP! I'm a creeper too, I suppose. I think that you and I have tweeted about hot rollers before, but I am pretty sure I've never commented on your blog.
I've been reading since you announced your pregnancy with Maclane. I was also pregnant at the time and gave birth to my little guy (Dashiell aka Dash) a month after Mac was born.
I blog, albiet infrequently, at senseandnonsenseblog.com. I'm also a frequent F-word user (though not on my blog - Grandma reads and judges) and I appreciate the boy mom advice.

  33. I read. I leave comments too. I think that is the best part about the blogging world! I also love getting comments on my blog. I curse too, but, I was raised by a truck driver. Seriously! It is un-lady like. I'm working on it too, especially that I have a little girl. Happy Blogging.

  38. Hey AP. Total lurker coming out of the woodwork to let you know I love your blog. I worked in the research side of Hem/Onc/BMT, and now work in oncology research in big pharma. I've been reading for years...pre babies. I'm nearing 30, recently engaged, photography on the side, Wisconsin country living girl who enjoys bottles of wine. I blog over at driftlessliving.com I have a feeling I'll be referring back to your blog once kiddos come along for me. You're full of coping strategies--that include many cocktails. ;-)

  39. Hi! I've been reading for awhile, started while you we're pregnant with Maclane. I was pregnant with my second as well. I often think I'm one of those "creepers", follow blogs, see what's up and don't comment all that often. Mostly it's because someone, the toddler or infant that occupies my house (not pointing any fingers) starts screaming, crying, doing something they shouldn't be and/or spitting up when I get those five minutes of calm. :) Love reading your posts because they are real and not look how fabulous everything is :). Thanks! And now I've got a crying babe to attend to...seriously it never fails ;)

  41. Hi AP,

Saying hi even though you know me from Instagram and Twitter, not sure I've ever commented on the blog. Loving what you write as always and it becomes more and more appropriate every day as my husband and I are getting ready to try to have our first baby. Keep writing!

  42. I do comment once in a while, but hi! I've probably been reading for about 2 years. Wow, that sounds like kind of a long time. I am from Cleveland, currently live in Phoenix and am about to move to Philly (did you follow that?). I do blog (phasethreeoflife.com) and I've had similar "should I be saying all of this" moments lately, so I feel ya.

  45. HI AP!! So funny you should post this today as I was just thinking about this earlier today...how I was this creepy person that only read blogs but never comments and don't have a blog of my own!! Ahhh...maybe that should change?? I'm no where near creepy...just a Minnesota mom (that lives so close to the Mall of America that I can almost see it from my roof) of 2 littles and just making sure I am not completely off my rocker with this "Mom" job. LOVE your blog - look forward to reading every day and seeing pictures on Instagram of your beautiful boys! Maybe someday I will get my ass in gear and get a blog going...will let you know if I do!!

I love your blog! Your honesty is what brings me back daily. I have tried blogging for quite a while but always fail to continue. So this is the year I start again! I'm from Florida, married for 7 years, have 3 kids {A, 5 years, L, 2 years, C, 4 months}. I'm a breastfeeding mama who loves her wine and naps. I just started weight watchers so I'm blogging about my weight loss a lot now. Thanks for always being so open to your loyals.

  50. Hi AP! I know I've commented on here a few times and we have definitely gone back and forth on IG, but here is my formal intro. My name is Lindsay and I blog over at Our Life in Chicago http://ourlifeinchicagolandd.blogspot.com. Come on by anytime. I probably only blog a couple times a week at most. I have a 4 month old little girl, so I was feeling you on the pregnancy posts with Maclane. My hubby, daughter and I live in Chicago (clearly), I work in advertising and I blog because its a fun creative outlet and really it helps keep our families in the loop who live far away. That's about it, glad this isn't creepy anymore ;)

  51. Helloooo. I'm a blog creeper since I read in google reader and rarely click over to comment but I think we're kinda twitter/IG friends. (momentspassslow) I found via MK in Wonderland you when you were very pregnant with M and I had just found out I was pregnant with my little girl due next week! 53. What a great idea! I'm always wondering who is reading by blog and love receiving comments and/or emails from people who have found me via the internet.

I know we've had a few conversations via Twitter, but I've been following your blog for almost a year, since I found you via Erin at Blue Eyed Bride and Nina at According to Nina and a link up they were doing.

One of my goals this year is to leave more comments on blogs instead of just reading and leaving. I know how much I enjoy comments, so others must too right?

Oh and I blog over at Grable Tales (littlemeaggs.blogspot.com).

  55. Hi, I'm Lucy! I think I started following you in twitter first and then found your blog and instagram. It's one of my favorites! Being a boy mom, wine lover, gooey pancake eater myself, I find you very relatable (and hysterical!). I'm from Maryland --near BWI. I'm also very in to photography and love getting inspiration from your photo shoots with your little men. Thanks for writing and sharing! Nice to meet you!

  56. Hi, I have followed for over a year and found you via a link up with another blog I read. I don't blog but I read a lot of what I call "mom" blogs...and I am sure most people cringe when they hear that. BUT I just like reading people quirky stories about the trials of motherhood to reassure myself that I am not the only one. :) And I currently live in SC but I am not from the South, not that being from the South is bad. I am a military spouse. (the whole last two sentences make be sound a but snobby but I promise I am not!)

  58. wellll, we talk on twitter. But I rarely comment on your blog (or many others for that matter). I usually get distracted by someone trying to flush something out of the toilet, or ripping their diaper off to run naked in the house. Duty calls, more than commenting :) That being said, I love your blog. And I only get creeped out by people who google stuff and then never leave a comment. And they google weird stuff. That freaks me out more than any non-commenter ever. Happy weekend-- drink my glass of wine for me ;)

  59. Hi AP - finally started reading your fantabulous blog this past summer! I'm Jessica, MD girl born and raised and live just over the line in WV now. Have 2 girls, small dog and hubby.... 60. Hi AP. I'm guilty of this. Love your blog, I can't recall how I found your blog but its so refreshing to read. I don't have kids yet. Something we are working on. 61. So I've been reading your blog since before you had carter and rarely comment. If that's not a creeper I don't know what is. But I promise I am not stalking you and if I did show up at your door step there would mos definitely be wine but no meat cleaver. :) can't remember how I stumbled upon your blog but I know the fact you live in Maryland caught my eye. My boyfriend is from MD but we live in California. Love your snark and how genuine you are. I have thought about starting a blog for years. I long for the connections you make and the community of it all but the thought that everything you write is on the Internet for anyone to see freaks me out (yet I read other blogs everyday...hypocrite?) I'd like to think in real life we could be friends and you'd most definately be the friend I called for mommy advice, wine suggestions, or a good honest chat. Keep up the great writing. You're one of my favorites and I apologize for being a creeper and not commenting more.

  62. Hey! My name is Elizabeth and I am a pre-engaged young 30 something who can't wait to be a mommy! I love reading your REAL look on motherhood :-)
Now, about those creepers....did you know that in my google RSS reader your full name, first and last, appear? Yeah, I didn't think so. Not sure where to update that in your settings, but I can send you a screenshot of my reader if that helps.

  63. Hey AP - I've been following your blog since the summer and have linked up a couple of times with you. I usually read your blog on my phone while I'm feeding my little guy (now 4 months old) which makes commenting a little more challenging :-)

I did mean to comment on your Nuby teething toy review - Sawyer isn't teething yet but he loves the keys! They are easy for him to grab onto and shove in his mouth. I'm sure he will love them more when he gets the sore gums.

I blog too (forthehallofit.com) and blogs like yours inspire me so keep up all the great posts and cute pics of the kiddos - I love them!

  64. Hey there AP! Well as you know our boys are about the same age so I enjoy reading your stories about your boys so I can compare the craziness that goes in my house. My goal also in 2013 is not to be pregnant or have a baby! :) I think I've been following you since I started blogging which is about 2 years!

  65. Now all I can think of is that scene in Single White Female when she cuts/colors her hair exactly like the girl she stalks. Crrreeeeeepy!! ;)

  66. I'm a new reader - I found you through the give-aways from Jennifer Francis' blog (at least I think that is how I found you!?)

I have 2 girls and a blog. But the 2 girls keep me from blogging most of the time. I love naps and choose that over the internet any day!

I like to lurk but totally get the creep factor. So here I am!

  67. Hi! Love your blog and I share your love for chardonnay:) Love reading about real life mommy's...the good and the bad. Thanks for being real~

  68. Hi, AP! I think I've maybe commented once...but I do really enjoy reading your blog almost daily. My name is Erica and I'm from the midwest. I have a sweet husband and a new baby boy that was born about a month after Mac. I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and serving Him is the biggest part of my life. I just started a blog a few months ago and I keep telling myself to email you asking for some tips and advice on getting started on a "mommy blog." :) Maybe after commenting today I will actually do that!

I am obsessed with Instagram and we have exchanged comments on there a few times! My blog name is Life and Love on the Hill and the address is lifeandloveonthehill.blogspot.com. I have been thinking about using Munckinland Designs to make my page, but I haven't full committed yet. Anyways, have a fabulous day, and keep sharing via blogland because we all love it!

  71. Hey Miss Ashley! I'm a new follower so I havne't been stalking long. But I am a blog lurker. I read people's blogs without commenting for far too long. As for saying "the eff word" too much...psh what's too much? lol. I love that word. And who decided it was a bad word anyway?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Hi! I just got here from the dog days of winter link party. I haven't poked around much yet but this post really grabbed me so you can count on me being out there more. I just started getting more readers and I can't figure out who they are. No comments. I am convinced it is spammers trolling waiting to find a post to leave a comment. At least that is what I tell myself so I don't get sad it is because my writing is horrible or freaked out that I have a couple dozen stalkers waiting to find me at the local fabric store one day!

  73. Hey lady, hey!
I read you every day and you crack.me.up. You are a brilliant writer and I'm always excited to see you've posted. Not to worry... I just don't want to bore you with my comments every day :)

    Have a fantastically awesome weekend!

  77. You know me and that I've left lots of comments! :) Lurve reading and have been reading since well before baby Mac was even conceived {is that weird that I just used that word? And wasn't talking about me conceiving? No? Ok, good!} Anywho, love you lady. And this blog. Wish I lived close enough to have a glass of vino with you now and then.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Hi! I'm Lori from Birmingham,AL. I've been reading your blog, for maybe a year? I can't remember but it was way before Maclane. So.. I guess that makes me a creepy lurker? I found your blog from Life After I Dew's blog, (where I guess I'm a creepy person there too, lol) and got sucked in and never could leave! I LIKE that you use the F word sometimes. And since I have a 2 year old that is VERY close in age to Carter, I love those stories too. I work in the medical field, I have a two year old and I say the F word. I guess thats why I can't stop reading. Also, I do have a blog, except I just started it and sometimes I dont have much to say yet (I'm learning) so, I guess I never commented because I wasn't sure if it was cool to comment/read a blog if you don't really have one? Just a thought why other people may lurk!

  79. Yay! So glad to introduce myself! I am a new follower of your blog and IG, and love to laugh along with you about your boys' crazy shenanigans! Mostly because I can relate to it with my two boys at home :)

    My name is Samantha

    1. I do have my own blog but I don't promote it much. I feel weird about that? Maybe because I'm a beginner.
    2. I love the F word. But I tend to use "effff" to make it seem less.. vulgar. ;-)
    3. I prefer my brownies to be ooey and gooey more so than pancakes. To each their own.

  82. HOLA!

Loved this post, there was no way I could NOT respond =D

I'm from the Central Valley in CA (its amazing). I've been reading for oh....just a couple months. Google Reader has made it extremely easy for me to be a successful creeper. But once I find a blog, I FIND a blog.

I enjoy it the most because I'm a Mom-to-Be and you keep it real. I'm tired of hearing all the flowery stuff about pregnancy and babies and just life. I just want the real stuff! And you've done a great job =D

I do have my own blog and you are definitely not a moron for not reading it, it's pretty lame. (I think my name links it...)

  83. Sorry I haven't said hi! My name's Ellen and I just started following recently (found through another blog, can't remember which). I have a blog, but I don't update nearly as often as I should... hoping to get better soon. you can find me at http://atwellnerdlife.blogspot.com

Sorry I haven't said hi sooner! I do a lot of my blog reading through google reader in between projects at work and when I can steal a minute :)

  84. I started following maybe 5 months ago? Not sure i have ever left a comment either...But I live in Western Ma, and I am expecting my first baby (a girl) in 34 days. I do have a blog selfishlyhappy.blogspot.com that I know people read by the stats but no one ever comments. Ha..i never really thought about how weird that it. I blog mostly for my family who live in florida.

I think last year I made a point to comment more but then I got caught up in life and I am lucky to even get through my reader...

    Anyway Love that blog!

  85. Hey Hey!

I have been a follower since last summer. I love reading your blog. Your real and honest and I Love wine too! Like a lot! I have a 17 month old little girl. I started a blog 2 years ago when I got pregnant with my daughter just to journal that and then found out how wonderful the blogging community is and have made a few friends. I think I have commented before. Im not a creeper :) So hello hello!

  86. Hey, AP! I found your lovely corner of the internet through the wonderful Katie at Loves of Life. Been following since before sweet Mac came along. (I may or may not follow your IG account, too, and love all the pics of your boys- Sheepie, included). My poor blog has been untouched for a few months now. However, blogs like yours make me want to get over my bloggy hump and just write! Thanks for your honesty, your humor, and your willingness to share even the gritty parts of motherhood.

Thanks for being an open book!

  90. So I have read your blog since before you had C but I rarely comment...if that's not a creeper I dont know what is. I promise I am not really a creeper. I can't remember how I stumbled upon your blog so long ago but I know that the fact that you live in Maryland caught my eye. My boyfriend is from MD but we live in California. I absolutely love your snark, your love for your boys and your honesty. I'd like to think we could be friend in real life. I'd definately call you for wine suggestions, mommy advice and a good old chat between girlfriends. I have thought about starting a blog for years but have always been freaked out by letting the world read about my life and yet each day I read several blogs and can't imagine not hearing about their lives on a daily basis. I yearn for the connections you make and the community that comes from bloggin...but for now I sit back and read along and truly appreciate your writing and how genuine you are. I appologize for not commenting more often. (By the way my name is Kortney and my email is lilmsko@aol.com)

  91. Pretty sure you already know me but just thought I'd say hi anyways! I'm samtsu on IG and I blog over at mommyspoppy.blogspot.com

I'm a texas girl, born and raised and still live here.

I'm a lover of all things crafty. I have a 19 month old boy and I love being a boymom.

I'm kinda smitten with #sweetbabymac and his expressions. :)

I love the "f" word way too much as well...I'm totally okay with you using it in your blog...I may be one of your biggest fans b/c you keep things real.
I started reading your blog a few months ago when you wrote about Carter's out-of-control-ness in the bookstore.

    Love me some AP!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Hi! I'm Elly and I've been reading your blog for a couple of years. Also, I love the F-word, and am not creepy. I have TWO blogs, but one is private as it pertains to our struggles to conceive. I made it private when I discovered someone had googled mine and my endurance horse's name and was directed right to it. I realized it wasn't as "private" as I had thought, and realized I didn't want people I knew knowing those intimate emotions I had been having.

    Anyways, your blog is fantastic!

  93. I outted my creeper status on Twitter. :) I don't remember how I found you, I imagine through another blogger because that's how I usually find ones I like. I have been reading for over a year and I think I may have commented once or twice but I do tweet you on occasion and you follow me back so who is the creeper now?! Kidding :)I don't blog, although I used to and then called off that engagement that I was blogging about and now, well...it would just be awkward right? HA! Anyway, I'd love to know more about YOU and your marriage. How do you keep it fresh and happy? Or is it hard?

  94. Hi!

I'm Meagan and I guess I would be considered a creeper, too. :) I don't have a blog of my own and have never left a comment (sorry!). I started reading your blog last year while pregnant. My daughter just turned 5 months this past weekend. It's been a crazy ride and reading great blogs like yours helps keep me sane. Anyway, just want to say thanks for writing!

  96. Hi! I'm Lauren from Dallas, TX and I blog over at www.theunlikelyrunners.com I have been reading your blog for a little over a year and a half now and I have to admit that I would probably be considered a creeper! I hang on every word you say and I am constantly storing your thoughts and information aside for the day when I have kids of my own. I am always telling my soon-to-be husband how much you are my "mom idol" and how I think we would be best friends if we lived close and I had kids. I send him links to your blog almost on a weekly basis and I am always making him look at your instagram feed! Your dog, your children, I am in love and hope that my life is as fun and beautiful as yours someday. Thank you for being real and for sharing your life with the world, even if we don't always stop to comment (I usually don't because I don't have children and I don't feel like I have much to say but I will change that and try to comment more!)

  98. Hi there! I've been following you for about a year (wow, that sounds creepy!). You are hilarious and no, you can never use the f-word too much. I'm from San Francisco, in my 30's, close to getting married and desperately want a baby. I don't have a blog - really have nothing to talk about .... so I just read everyone else's.

  99. I started following you when you were pregnant with M. As I was pregnant at the same time, I was due a month later. I was using your pregnancy updates as what to expect, basically. But my baby decided to come 12 weeks early, so now my baby is older but much behind developmentally. So I watch a very big M and see what my daughter will do someday. Plus I love your humor! Thanks for writing!Alicia

I am, admittedly, a horrible follower. I hardly ever comment, so I am truly a lurker. Haha. Here is my first comment on your blog in almost 3 years of reading. =)

  104. Hi! I'm Aislinn. My "everyday" blog is Movin' On (http://aislinnnoltie.blogspot.com/) and my blog about our troubles with conceiving is Baby Makin' (http://msbabymakin.blogspot.com/) I curse to much as well and me and the f-word are BFFs. I usually put my pants on before my socks, but I sleep in socks which my husband thinks is strange (my feet get cold!) I was born in Canada, moved to Missouri when I was a baby and then moved to Mississippi two days after my college graduation for my husband's job. I'm newly married, been a homeowner for about a year now, and we're currently working on growing our family. Feel free to stop in and say hi!

  105. Your blog is one of my VERY favorite recent discoveries! The phallic fish post on Facebook and talk of wine among other things has made me think that we could very well be real life buddies (does that sound too much like I'm on my way with the cleaver?).

So hey from Jenn in Salt Lake City. I blog at My Fabuless Life (www.myfabulesslife.com). Thank you for the hilarity you insert into my day and the confirmation that I am, in fact, a NORMAL mother (or maybe that there are just more than one of us weirdos out there).

I want to hopefully have a blog of my own...sometime...whenever I have time... So far I am really enjoying your posts on facebook, but haven't had much time to dig into your blog. Maybe I will have to make more of an effort now. :) -Angela

I've been living in Germany the past three years as an AF wife, but we are moving to VA this spring! So, sorry for being a "stalker" follower...just love your posts...don't stop blogging :)

  116. I often have the same worries about the one anonymous follower (out of 7, haha) of my little blog! I guess I started blog stalking you about a year ago or so. I don't remember how I stumbled across your blog, but once I found out you were not only due with your baby the same month as me (go June babies!), but also just as obessed with wine as I am, I was hooked. I then expanded to stalking you via Instagram ;)
Seriously though, your daily anecdotes are hilarious... and I think my husband is tired of me showing him pictures of Maclane (hey, this is that girl-who-I-don't-really-know's baby that is just a week older than Reagan! Isn't he cute!?). thanks for sharing!

  118. Yo AP! I've commented before, but in an effort to debunk any myths out there that I'm a blog creeper I'm saying hi today :) I'd comment on all your posts if my darling boys allowed me any amount of time to do the simplest of daily tasks without interruption. We are already friends on most other social media platforms (ie twitter, FB and IG) and you know me there as "linzperks" but for some reason on here I have to comment as "L Perkins." I was trying to think back to our first internet encounter and it MAY have been one night when you and I were tweeting while our hubbies agonized over their beloved Pittsburg Steelers, yes? Either way-our shared love for vino, our darling pairs of handsome little men (who I'm convinced would make for a fab foursome play date) and our excessive use of the F word lead me to believe that if the stars ever aligned we'd make great IRL friends as well :) Thanks for bringing us your slice of the interweb and hope have a FAB friday.

  124. Hiya! I know I've commented a handful of times. I've been really bad about reading through my fav blogs over the last few months - moving and Christmas and other stuff like that - but I know I've commented in the past. Anyways, I'm Susie and I've got 3 girls - 6, 3, and 9m. I'm an East Coast girl, above the Mason Dixon line, but not by a lot. I've been around since probably pre-Baby-#2? Hard to remember. Not sure how I ended up here either. But anyways - hi! I'd love to have wine or beer with you. Or basically any yummy thing. :)

  128. We follow each other on Instagram {jdizzy0911} but my blog is www.jenbrandonreese.blogspot.com!

I'll try and be less of a creeper from now on!

    ReplyDelete
  129. I'm a horrible creeper and rarely ever comment. :) But you always make me laugh and I love reading about your sweet boys.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I'm a lurker, creeper - whatever you wanna call it! Love following you and esp love your Instagram pics of your sweet little boys. I'm from Durham, work full time, have an only child, UNC fan, graphic designer...and I just transitioned to Wordpress! That's scary!

    ReplyDelete
  131. Total creeper here!! I follow you on twitter and fb too. I comment there more than here.
I'm Kim, @redheadkimie, I'm from the Bay Area in California. I have 2 little monsters. Maddie is 5 & in kindergarten. Jack is 3 and I'm shocked we haven't ended up in the er. He is a self proclaimed daredebil (daredevil). I also nanny 3 little girls, 2,5,& 6! We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 5 guinea pigs (got 2 from the pet store and one was a knocked up lucky me) and a 200 gallon saltwater fish tank. Its a crazy house! I also love moscoto & the f word but I think I use the s word more.

I love reading your blog! it makes me laugh and seem normal! Thanks!

  132. Hi!!!
I'm Brittany and I have a blog but rarely update it, I can't keep it consistent so for now I am just a reader. :o) I'm from a little north of Houston and have one very rambunctious 11 month old that just started walking. Now the fun starts right? I've been reading for a little over a year and just started following on IG (brittbad86). Your blog is easily one of my favorites because you def "keep it real". It doesn't make me feel like a failure like some of the other "perfect mom bloggers". I know, I only have one kid and you're laughing at me right now, but I'm new to this whole SAHM thing! Haha Happy Friday! ;o)

  133. Hi, yes i am creeply staring at you. Sometimes pointing. But its because I'm a lazy commenter. I've been reading along for just a couple of months. Found you from the $1000 giveaway that another blogger i follow was part of. I am a mother of a two year old girl and three month old boy. I also love the f-word and long for my wine and beer as i am breastfeeding. I'm crafty with lazy execution for projects and in the kitchen, but at least the food ends up tasty. I live in Washington north of Seattle with my husband near our families. No blog as of now but my daughter really should have one, she's a crafty gorgeous drama queen.

    ReplyDelete
  137. I just recently started following you...discovered you from some of the other blogs I follow & the giveaway. I can totally understand putting yourself out there with no comments. :) I have thought about starting to blog myself but have no clue when I'd add that to my crazy busy life too.

  138. Hi! I promise Im not a creepy lurker, I just stink at commenting on posts bc I mostly view from my phone with a toddler , a preschooler or an infant in my lap!! I do comment on your intagram photos though (Im @totallymomma) Love your blog!
    I blog over at http://www.mommatotallyinlove.com

  139. Hi! I'm a long time reader, sometimes commenter! I live in N. NJ with my husband and 4 month old son. I've gone back and forth about blogging for the same reasons you are feeling freaked out. I'm not quite ready to put my son on the internet but I've thought about it. I love your perspective on mommying boys and you are one of my fave reads. Thanks for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  140. Hi there! I think I've followed you for a couple of years now after finding you on Google Reader. That's probably why I don't comment, actually, because I usually only read the blogs I follow through the reader. But one of my minor New Years' Resolutions was to comment more on blogs that I like, so I shall say hi!! I'd love it if you were to check out my blog - it's not too thrilling, just our life here as ex-pats in London with a baby - and you don't even have to comment if you don't want to :) Keep writing - I love reading!

    ReplyDelete
  141. Hi AP! I started reading your blog close to the time Maclane was born. I've tried and failed many a times at my own blog. I'm much better at things like instagram that only require a picture (and then I tend to overshare)..ha. Thank you for being willing to share your life so openly and honestly. I enjoy your humor and use of the f-word :) I moved to NC to start a teaching job where I happened to meet my husband, buy a house, have a baby and go back to work kicking and screaming that I couldn't stay home. It was nice to say Hi and I promise not to show up at any time :)

    ReplyDelete
  142. I comment once in awhile. I am more f a blog reader vs commenter. I comment a lot over on Facebook...the other day I was the mom on bed rest on your high/low post. I blog at whatyousaymommy.blogspot.com and have about 2 readers. My mom is my most faithful reader but that is okay with me.

I love your blog and all your funny stories:)

    ReplyDelete
  143. Love, love, love your blog but hardly ever comment - sorry! I need to get better at it...especially since I really look forward to your posts. I started following you back when you were pregnant with C. I was also preggo with my son due in July. We have the same sense of humor, love for wine and use of the F word. I love that you keep it real and can relate to so much you write about. I'll try my hardest to come out of creeper status. :)

    ReplyDelete
  144. I'm a fairly new reader -- a couple of months. And I've commented a few times before. But I need to do better. I promise I'll try. But I have 2 boys a few months older than both of yours so I can totally relate to all things boy momish.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Hi I'm Annette and sorry I haven't commented before. Can't remember when I started following your blog but mainly because I have a 2 year old son as well and now I have another one on the way. I love your blog and love hearing about your boys.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Hi AP - I'm Annette. Sorry I haven't commented before. I love reading your blog and can't remember when I started following. I mainly loved it because I have a 2year old boy myself and another on the way.

  147. If we ever got the opportunity to hang out you'd have to fight me for the last of the wine bottle. :)And you would have to make no apologies for the F word.

  148. Hi New Reader,
I'm bad about commenting, but I get sad that very few comment on our blog too! I've given my toddler pizza for breakfast too, it's a blanced meal of veggies, dairy, meat and carbs right?

    ReplyDelete
  149. Hello from California! I can't remember when I found your blog but I love your musings on motherhood {and wine!}.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Hi, I just started reading your blog last week. I don't remember exactly where I found your blog it was either YoungHouseLove or BowerPower (I think?!) Every once in a while I look to see if there are any blogs out there I'm missing and I trial a few at a time, so I guess you could say I'm trying yours out to see if our styles/interests overlap- so far so good. Blogs are my magazines in a very hectic day when I can't sit down to really get into a book groove. I do not blog, I am a teacher in SC. Thanks for all your hard work- reading blogs is my guilty pleasure in a busy day.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I love your blog, but I will admit to being a creeper. I blog (occasionally) at actingadult.blogspot.com about my non-scrapbooking, auditioning for local community theatre, and getting my husband through law school.

I completely admire the fact that you're a mom of two and can still find time to do all this stuff.

I love reading about it every day!

    ReplyDelete
  152. Hello, hello! Actually made me think how much less privacy we have with this whole Internet thing most of us post personal information on!! Anyway, I have been following you know for about two weeks. I think I found your blog through another blogger "liking" it on Facebook! So far, you make me laugh and I'm going to continue to follow! I do have a blog, www.loveandcrayons.com that I have very,,very recently started. You don't follow me, and right now I can't blame ya! I think I'm pretty boring! That's not to say that one day I won't pull out something exciting! I use the f word way too much, but so far not in the blog. I'm trying to have a community events page, so don't want to scare too many people away, considering I live in a Bible Belt area!!

    ReplyDelete
  153. I've been reading you for years :) I'm just not a commenter... I am a college student currently, attending university in Washington (state) I'm an accounting major. As a college student I too use the F-word- I try to avoid strong language like that at home, but it's a different lifestyle when I'm at university :)

    ReplyDelete
  154. Well...I'm pretty much I began stalking you and your precious family through IG, and then your blog was just the icing on the cake! I think we've communicated thru IG more than me commenting here. But...here's my little blurb- I'm the hem/onc nurse that just went to the outpatient clinic. I live in NC, have a little boy, and a blog! beautifulwithinlife.blogspot.com you can check it out if you'd like- its just a teeny little thing. I hope I don't sound creepy when I say that I feel like we'd be friends if we lived near each other lol. I enjoy your "open book-ness"! Thanks for being so faithful in sharing here :)

  155. Hi there! Love your blog. I've been reading for a while now but haven't commented yet. I found your blog through my BFF Quinn of Pearls and Pacis. I'm a new boy mom to a 7 week old and love reading about your boys! I'll say hello on Twitter sometime :)

  157. Hi! It's Kelley, and I hope you know I think you're the bomb. I love commenting on your blog, your tweets, your instagram...I'm a serious stalker, but I'll throw my love around for you in a big way. I've also had two vodka tonics, so I may be more forthcoming than usual. Actually no. Drinks or no drinks, I love me some AP.

I know folks read my blog but I rarely get comments. You know what's funny? I wrote a blog yesterday about my hair, of all things, and people came out of the word work to comment and thumbsup that bad boy. How funny is that? You just never know.

So I'm saying hi, because you asked me to. And because you're awesome.

    Happy Friday, friend!!

  158. Hi! Totally been a creeper for a few weeks! I started a blog a little over a year ago when my husband and I got married. We are what you affectionately call DINKs and have enjoyed that - but are ready for the next step. I'm a family law attorney specializing in divorce and my hubs is a 7th grade teacher & coach. Unfortunately, I drop the f-bomb rather frequently... Along with many others. Whatever. It's my vice :) I love reading about your adventures with the boys, and live semi-vicariously in them. Come say hi at thepoleys.blogspot.com!!

  160. Hi! I'm Meghan from Boston. I've been reading for a little over a year now, I think? I'm an emergency dept RN, so you know I swear like a trucker. I only work a few days a month now, since the rest of the time I stay home with my 13 month old b/g twins. Yes, I have my hands full. No, twins do not run in my family. And for the love of Pete, no, they are not identical. I currently do not have a blog. I always toy with the idea of starting one, and then realize I have absolutely no idea what to write about. Thanks for sharing with us, though, ILYMTC is one of my fav daily reads!

  161. I think you know me! I did a post like this like 1.5 years ago and it's WAY past time I do it again. So many people read and don't comment, so I have no idea they are out there. That is a creepy thought. lol.

I have been blogging for almost three years about the most random stuff since I do not have a family of my own to blog about! Feel free to visit me @ erin-recgirl.blogspot.com

  164. Hi AP first time to comment, but love reading your blog. Your snark and wit about being a SAHM is great. My long lost blog has been taken a backseat to raising my two little ones. You have great story telling abilities about the adventures of toddlers. I laughed so hard at your story about Carter at Barnes and noble.

  166. Hey there! I'm an occasional reader, of only a few blogs here and there. I always wonder what bloggers think of people like me, always "peeking", never leaving a note. I really enjoy reading blogs of fellow moms, with younger kiddos, going through real life stuff. We just moved and I don't have big network of friends my age and stage of life... so it's really reassuring to hear about life with toddlers beyond what Parenting magazine tells you:) I live in Durham, NC... mom to a hilarious, exhausting, and gorgeous with an attitude two year girl. Melt downs in our household comes in the form of putting on the wrong pink pants in the morning... oh the joys of girls. Thank you for being there, and being honest. Helps the rest of us who are a little on the shyer side know and feel OK about how we're plugging along.

  169. Hi - I am a religious reader. I enjoy "connecting" with other moms via blogs, although I do never comment. I love your blog - you make me laugh and I can really relate to the experiences you share including the rewarding and challenging aspects of parenting young children. I also enjoy hearing about perspective of "momming" from a stay at home mom. Please know that I must prioritize the number of blogs I read regularly and yours is one of them! I look forward to my blog reading time every night (usually with a glass of wine!). I am a mid-30s working mom of two children (boy almost 5 and girl 19 months) living in Minneapolis. Thank you for sharing your journey with us - I know it is a time commitment and a choice not made lightly to share more of your private life.

  171. Hey Ashley,

Thanks for the super sweet comment on my blog! I suppose I would classify as a creeper, haha. (Ever since my friend linked to the Pinterest thing, at least ;) ) I never comment but do enjoy catching up on your blog!

I love that there's more "crazy" people out there like me who love writing and (in my case) self-deprecating humor. Definitely will link you in next time I attempt another Pinterest project. Although the way they've been turning out lately, they really belong here - http://pinstrosity.blogspot.com/

  174. Hi :) I'm Rachel. Stay home mama to 3 boys, 3, 6 & 9. I just moved back home to Iowa from Arizona and I'm so happy to be home :) My hubs on the other hand misses his Desert home. I feel like a crazy, crabby mommy alot of days and it helps to know that I am NOT alone, I love being mama but some days....some days are...hard. I have a rare auto immune disease that makes me allergic to food(Eosinophilic Esophagitis) and I survive on elemental formula and Mountain Dew. I can't give up my Dew, it's the only thing that keeps me sane and "normal" I love reading real life blogs instead of books! I can relate and it's fun, entertaining reading! I don't comment much because its a pain on my iPhone and with my sweet 3 yr old always at my side, it's hard to get even a sentence written before I have to go help, play, feed, run to the potty....yea, I know you know :) Thanks for being you! Your blog rocks. Your real, funny, honest and your kiddos are adorable!!

  175. Hi AP! I have commented before and have also chatted with you on Twitter/ Instagram. Love your blog and your honest approach on motherhood. It's refreshing! I also give you a lot of credit for keeping it up with two kids! I have a 3 year old and 10 month old and blogging pretty much came to a grinding hault when the second one came. Trying to blog a little more now but it's not easy!

But anyways-I'm a 20 year old college student blogging for myself because let's be honest... I don't think anyone reads my blog unless I participate in a linkup. But guess what! Who gives a fuck?! 182. Hey AP! I actually found you via Twitter and IG! Our babies are only a few days apart, which I love because when I hear that Mac doesn't sleep thru the night, that he is a bigger baby (and seriously, lets make clothes that fit real babies, mmmmkay?) and that you are secretly sobbing in a corner because he's growing too quickly (just me?), I feel normal. I like coming here because you keep it real. I'm over at Searching for Sanity. Stop by if you get a hot minute!

Since you mentioned pancakes...I have to ask if you all have a Cracker Barrel? They have the BEST pancakes ever. And their mix is to die for and..wait for it...only requires water. NO EGGS!!! 190. Hi! Sadly, I hardly ever comment on blogs - I'm almost always reading on my phone but never get a chance to comment. I can't remember what blog I was reading when I saw your blog in the blog roll, but it was probably close to three years ago that I started popping over to read your posts :) I'm from Ohio and currently live in Florida. I blog at www.seacowcircus.com. Carter is a day older than my daughter - she was a big baby, too, but not as big as him :) I'm pregnant with our second right now and waiting for the nausea to lift so I can become a semi-functioning member of society again.

I am in southeastern VA, have a 3.5 year old daughter and a 10 month old son, and I'm a teacher. I just turned 30 yesterday and am making this a year with a little more focus on me, as you have said as well.
