M2's Nursery Reveal

I'm sure by now you are aware that I have very little going on this week to keep me busy while we await, ahem, D-Day. I keep thinking of ways that this is a good thing, however after much deliberation, I can not think of a single good reason. However, I can think of plenty of reasons why my lack of busyness is, indeed, a terrible thing and if you'd really like to know a few of them, I would like to direct you to my recent online billing statements.

Seriously.

Carter's nursery wasn't complete until he was roughly 18 months old. In fact, I'm pretty sure it was finished shortly before we transitioned him to his Big Boy Bed. Thankfully both my husband and my sister-in-law continue to remind me that the reason his room came together so late was that I was coincidentally preoccupied decorating an entire house at the same time. Touche

For whatever reason I was determined for this not to be the case when it came to decorating Maclane's nursery. I absolutely love how M2's nursh turned out. I love every single little thing about it and when I say "little," boy, do I mean little

Aside from the powder room, guest bathroom and laundry room, this room is the smallest in the house. Tiny. Teeny tiny

Prior to becoming the New Nursh, this room served as our home office. It contained a desk, desk chair and futon. It also happened to be one of only two rooms in the house that we never painted upon moving in which left it stark white and rather drab. Smarties that we are, we knew one day this room could and hopefully would serve as another nursery so we left it as is and did little to make it.. homey.

Unfortunately, I do not have any before pictures to share with you. Just picture this room empty. Naked, even. With white walls and no chair rail.

When deciding on a "theme" for the nursery, let's just say I didn't. I knew I wanted to paint the nursery grey, the same color we used to paint our downstairs living room and soon, the same grey we'll use to repaint the master bedroom. I also knew I wanted a chair rail.

I didn't want anything to be super matchy-matchy. I wanted whimsical and bright colors. I really like the color orange. The crib and rocker were previously in Carter's room.

Here's what we ended up with. At the end of this post, I've compiled a list of the "where from's" and "what colors."

One day, I'll get around to photographing the closet. I promise, it's just a closet with some rods, a small unfinished dresser and some shelves inside. Oh, and lots of really super adorable baby clothes.

There you have it, Loyals. Welcome to Maclane's room...
