This Mama's Morning Make-Up Routine!

Thanks to L'Oreal for sponsoring my post
about my favorite beauty looks, tips and tricks!

Let's be honest, Loyals. I rarely, if ever, leave the house without makeup on. Sure, on the every day basis it isn't the full face of spackle and jam that I would be donning for say, a night out on the town or a holiday party, but every day, I throw a little somethin' somethin' on to brighten the complexion and hide the chronic "I Have A Crazy Wildebeest Toddler" bags beneath my eyes.

Today, I thought I would use this post to share with you some of my favorite, must-have daily products!

Most mornings, my make up routine consists of the following:

1. L'OREAL Eye Defense Gel Cream
This light, refreshing, non-greasy cream goes on with just a light fingertip dab and soothes the puffiness and redness from beneath my eyes in a heartbeat. I have been using this cream for a few years now and absolutely swear by it! It wears great under both moisturizer and pressed powder and doesn't leave my feeling cake-y or burdened down by heavy cream.

2. Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer
This stuff is basically the world's greatest moisturizer in my book. I love, love, love it so much. Staying away from the under eye area, a dime-sized amount of this light cream goes a long way. I smooth it on over my cheeks, chin, nose and forehead. Non-greasy and incredibly lightweight, I swear by this product all year round.

3.  MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft Creamy Beige
Lightweight (are you seeing a trend here?), translucent and amazing coverage all in this little compact. Again, this is day-to-day, so there's no need for thick, goopy foundation. This pressed powder is just the perfect amount of coverage for when it comes to running errands with The Toddler!

4. MAC Bronzing Power
Because every girl loves to look a bit sun-kissed, no? Especially in the dead of winter. This product is an absolute must-have for me and I refuse to leave the house without wearing any. Kind of like underwear.

5. MAC Blush in Dame
The perfect hint of pink and dash of shimmer goes a long way in this blush! I've been wearing this blush for years and years and I refuse to branch out! What can I say, I'm a creature of habit? I'm hoping against all hope that MAC never ever decides to discontinue this color or else this Mama will be utterly heartbroken.

6. MAC Eye Shadow
Okay, so here's where I tell a tiny fib. Most days? I'm eye shadow-less. Although I refuse to leave the house without mascara on, I don't feel nearly as naked and terrible leaving the house without eye shadow. On a day when I'm in the mood for a little pick-me-up or I have a fancy Mom-date on the books? I'll play around with a shadow compact or two. Here's how I went out to MyGym yesterday! After all, it was my first time meeting the other Mommies in the group and I figured I needed to look half-alive, right? There's actually two different shadows used in that picture- MAC Trax (purple) and Dazzlelight (champagne).

And last but not least, to pull it all together, my most favorite part of my morning routine.. my mascaras. Plural. Crazy, I know

7. L'OREAL Extra Volume Collagen Mascara
I have a confession to make, Loyals. I wear two different types of mascara. Every day. First up? L'OREAL Extra Volume Collagen Mascara. This mascara has a great thick, fat brush that goes on easy and doesn't clump! It does the best job at separating my lashes and lengthening them at the same time. Even better? It's available at your local drugstore and doesn't break the bank!

8. DiorShow Mascara
Worn in BlackOut, this is the blackest of black mascaras and once again, I am obsessed. Sure, it's a bit pricey at $25 per tube but it really lengthens my lashes, drawing out each individual lash and most importantly, it also doesn't clump! You can find this mascara at a Sephora nearest you.

So, Loyals.. there you have it. Granted, I don't have too much time in the mornings to spend on my face which means this entire routine is completed in a mere 4 and a half minutes. But it really helps this Mama feel pulled together in the mornings despite the few hours of sleep she may or may not have gotten the night before!

Are there any make-up tips or tricks you've been hiding up your sleeve? Perhaps, a new technique you're looking to try out at this year's holiday party? Let's hear it! I'd love to know!

  3. So yeah, I'm obsessed with MAC, especially their eyeshadows. They are amazing. They stay on almost all day, which I love. Loved Dazzlelight and Vellum (great for the corners of the eye to highlight) is another fav of mine. My go to is Blanc Type, great base color or can be used all on it's own.
Currently I'm using a facial shimmer by Elf. I just put a few dabs right between my cheek bone and eye for a little highlighting.
Thanks for sharing all your tips.

Tonight, I'm doing a glittery smokey eye for a Holiday Party. Super excited! (it's the little things).

  4. I have yet to get into MAC but everyone swears by it. I'm super pale (one of the joyous perks of being a redhead) so I swear by Paula Dorf bronzer to give me a sunkissed look. Anything else and I look like Snooki.

  13. I will have to try some of those but not probably the MAC since I don't wear makeup enough to justify the purchase. Though I am loving that eyeshadow in the pic :)

  14. I love MAC! I have been wanting to try the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish, maybe I need to add it to my Christmas list, would be a great stocking stuffer! I also live for mascara and bronzer. My day to day face is finished skin, a bit of bronze, a nice pink cheek, and lots of lashes!

I love NARS Orgasm, but sometimes it can be a bit too shimmery. I actually adore a Sonia Kashuk bright pink blush I picked up from Target. Great color and coverage!

  15. A tip I give everyone that I swear by is to wear Sunscreen (non oily, SPF 25 or higher) on my face everyday. I only wish I had started it earlier. I recently got a facial and was told I had very little sun damage. I use it as a moisturizer too so it takes out a step.
