•What is the thing you change the TV channel with
Ha! Your video was cute! (And your hair is so long!) We call stuff mostly the same things excepy "goosey night?" NEVER heard that before ever. And "tank bug." Is that a centipede?
ReplyDeleteloved it. im so glad i have a voice to put to the words now :)
ReplyDeleteI was so expecting you to have a Jersey accent {glad you don't}.
ReplyDeleteI DIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE! Yay! This was so fun.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you have an accent - but I don't think I do either, until I hear myself answer Husband's "What are you watching?" with "Frahday Naht Lahts".
I'm soooo tempted to do this - but I'd have to take a shower AND do my hair AND do my makeup, and it still wouldn't look like I did any of those things. Loved seeing the "real" you, friend! Kitty even stood up from her piano and watched the whole thing.
PS - even though I'm in Kansas I really only found 1 or 2 things we say differently. 1: That bug? Is a Roly Poly. 2: WTF is Goosey Night??? I've never heard of this! Hilarious.
Love your video! Never heard of goosey night. That made me chuckle :)
ReplyDeleteok, seriously, I love yours! You're pretty neutral except for the way you say Aunt. It made me SMILE.
ReplyDeletehahaha. the only thing you said different than I would is Route and IM from NH and lived in Boston for 6 years.
ReplyDeleteLove your vlog! First, it's spittin' image. Second, what is goosey night? Third, come to WV - it's ALWAYS a buggy here! :)
ReplyDeleteYou don't sound anything like I expected!! I think you totally have a northern accent...
ReplyDeleteAnd you would say "spittin' image" with no "g" ;) That's how you say it different! haha :)
Oh, and after seeing this on a few other blogs? I'm pretty sure "spitting image" is on here to see whether or not you pronounce the "G" :) Which you do. So we can still be friends.
ReplyDeleteOk. What is vlog?! LOL ahhhh! I love you even more. I didn't think it was possible. but alas I do.
ReplyDeleteTotally thought you would have a Jersey accent. why did I think that? lol!!
I loved this! You're so cute! And Goosey night? Yah never heard it called that. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you are great on video!! Your hair looks wonderful! I don't find that you have an accent at all, of course, I'm from around here so may not be the best judge :)
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time visiting your blog, and I have to say....you are the cutest! I feel like I know you somehow, but it may be because I grew up in Pittsburgh, and went to Penn State with a ton of girls from Jersey. I also grew up going to the shore etc etc. So glad I found your blog! :)
ReplyDeletehttp://pearlstopampers.tumblr.com
I love it! Um, you kinda sound like you're from North Dakota...am I the only one who thinks that?! Either way, you're cute!
ReplyDeleteIf you sound seven, I'm pretty sure I sound three. But I do hear a hint of Jersey in there at the end. =)
ReplyDeleteLoved hearing your voice! It's so fun to put a voice to the posts!
ReplyDeleteAll of my answers are different from yours! So funny! I guess living in the south (TN) will do that to you! :)
Happy Wednesday!
Okay- Lots to say- NEVER heard of goosey or cabbage night- we don't do anything the night before Halloween?
ReplyDeleteWhile I was watching this, Manning climbed up in my lap and started pointing at the video and saying "Pretty! Pretty!" and I have to say I agree. :)
You made me lol when you said "I probably sound Southern." No, AP, no. You do not sound Southern at all. Slightly Northern, but not guido, so congrats on that. :)
Watching these vlogs is making me love all my fave bloggers even more!
AP! This was just precious! You de-virginized me to this accent v-log and I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI live Wisconsin, and my company headquarters are in East Hanover, NJ, so I think you sound familiar. :)
I've been told I have a 'up north'/Fargo-ish accent, which I quickly deny...but maybe I'll get the courage to do my own v-log.
Haha, love it! I think we say most things the same... although when I've had a few drinks, my 5 years of VA living come out and I turn somewhat southern.
ReplyDeleteTank bug? Rolly Polly!
ReplyDeleteHaha - and you can totally hear an accent when you say "salmon."
Loved it.
I think you sound just like me and all my family. Except I have a little southern twang in there from my days (years) spent in NC. I want to vlog but I'm petrified. You go girl!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD!! When I address a group I usually say "Heey yooou guuuuys" just like hey do in the Goonies, BECAUSE it pops in my head when I first think I need to get everyone's attention! Lol!
ReplyDeleteLoved the V-log you are adorable. I might do this as well. And I'm also wondering, as many seem to be, what on earth is goosey night?
Ok, you *might* have inspired me to do this one!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of tank bug...IN.MY.LIFE. :) or goosey night!
Must be my Pittsburgh roots clashing with my Arizona raising.
p.s. I say "buggy".
xoxox
Ok, so excited you did this! Your voice is sweet!
ReplyDeleteGoosey night?? Love it!
I have never heard of goosey night you should explain a bit more on that one! I'm curious now! I've never heard of a tank bug either. I don't think you have a very strong accent actually! Glad to put a voice with the words :)
ReplyDeleteI decided to join in today too. Eeeks.
Oh! And I almost forgot!!!
ReplyDeleteI have (had) and Oma!!
xoxox
I would say you sound pretty "normal" :) I work with a girl from Delaware and she talks way different than you so I am surprised. Her husband is from Maryland and he sounds like he's from the deep south....so crazy how it's all different!
ReplyDeleteok. you totally sound jersey! :) i am going to have to do this because i say a lot of the things differently!
ReplyDeleteYou are the CUTEST!! I loooove your long hair and your ink :) & I totally don't think you have an accent. I didn't ever think you would for some reason! Is that weird?
ReplyDeleteAlso? Goosey night?! NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING! I actually have never heard of "the night before halloween" ever. So strange!
Oh honey, yes you DO have an accent! But it's adorable. No one thinks they have an accent until enough people tell them that they do. :o)
ReplyDeleteAround here, when you throw toilet paper on a house, you call it 'going rolling'. I guess it comes from rolling the trees and house with the TP. I dunno. Hardly any of my answers to these questions were the same as yours. I gotta go see what other people said for these! :o)
So fun, you did great and you may have inspired me to join the cool club! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look and sound so great!!! Love it!!! :) I have to do mine soon!
ReplyDeleteGoosey night must be a Jersey thing? I can't believe people haven't heard of that before! Love this by the way! And I think people were expecting us to sound like Snooki!
ReplyDeleteHOW ADORABLE ARE YOU!!! I would totally do this but I dont know if it fits my food bloggie motif. Eh, perhaps it's worth a shot.
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing! Love this v-log business.. why is vlog a dirty word?! LOL! keep rockin!
Love it! Hubs and I listened to it together (he likes this accent thing) and he was laughing at the Goonies reference. But he promptly corrected you by doing the Hey YOUUU GUYYYYS voice in a way more politically incorrect, special needs voice. Ha! That deserves a vlog on its own! Also, I think you definitely have an accent but I'm sure comparatively that it's very slight. :) I wish I bogged just so I could do this!
ReplyDeletenon-regional diction! :) i pride myself on mine, however i do catch myself with the Chicago accent every once in a while. I call it soda pop even though I called it pop for decades (basically because i felt like an idiot in AZ when i'd order a pop and get a weird look from someone). And it is pronounced more like pap than pop. And the way you pronounced some of those words reminds me of jersey. Caramel...i don't pronounce the middle A anymore even though I use to. And another word I remember is Jaguar saying jag-wire was a jersey thing i think? they should add that word onto the list ;)
ReplyDeletetank bug...haha! We call them roly-poly's!
ReplyDeletegoosey night...explain!
I call it a shopping cart or basket.
We say "Hey y'all!" in Oklahoma! And we call carbonated beverages POP!
This is fun. I think you sound normal!
You are adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteoh this was fun.
ReplyDeletein California we don't call the night before Halloween anything... except Oct 30.
The bug we call a "roll-y poll-y"
We also have no name for rain falling while it is sunny.
loved it!
oh this was fun.

You are so exactly the way I expected you to be! :) And yeah...how else WOULD you say image?
ReplyDeletelove it. You have a great speaking voice, not little kiddish at all. umm, I've never heard of tp-ing for football games, and no idea what goosey night or cabbage night it (guess California's lame). I say pop, although the rest of CA says soda (with no r). tank bug=rolly rolly. why is vlog a bad word? Super cute vid!
ReplyDeletelungfam.blogspot.com
I want to do this now! I didn't notice an accent!
ReplyDeleteLoved it! Had never heard of Goosey Night (or Cabbage Night or anything else!) but sounds like we missed out on some fun.
ReplyDeletei knew you were from jersey but i guess i just never really put it together because that really surprised me! haha! super cute :)
ReplyDeleteAsh- this was great! I am almost tempted to do one because ever since I started dating the hubs people tell me I sound like I am from NY- maybe he rubbed off on me since he's from Long Island?!? Anyway- loved it and I think that is the longest I've seen your hair- it looks fab! :)
ReplyDeleteI never would have pictured you to sound the way you do :) I always think everyone will sound Southern lol. Loved the V-LOG!!!!
ReplyDeleteFunny how you imagine how people sound and then it's so freaky when you hear their actual voice.
ReplyDeleteI hear a little bit of an accent in your a's and your o's. It's good though.
Sometimes we'll refer to TPing a house as rolling it.
Love the V log ;) You sound like I would picture, and don't think you have much of an accent.
ReplyDeleteOne day I will actually look presentable enough to do a vlog!!!
Cute video. Great to see you live!!! I may steal this ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour video is cute!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new reader...hello! My computer is not playing vlogs right now...annoying! So unlucky me still doesn't get to listen to you.
ReplyDeleteLove putting a voice with a face! Tres relieved you don't have a Dirrty Jerz accent going on. ILYMTC but I'm not sure we could still be friends..haha
ReplyDeletexoxo
Sarah
Okay so my family all lives in New Hampshire and their accents are like WAY stronger but there are a few words I notice you say just like them:) I usually say Aunt like you do but I for some reason said ant:)
ReplyDeleteI love these vlogs :) Finally got around to watching them.
ReplyDeleteThrowing around the idea of doing one myself. Never thought I had an accent till I watched a few of these and heard how other people say things.
You are super cute! I am originally from Maryland and a lot people tell me I have a southern accent. I beg to differ, but you can view my v-log (btw, vee log sounds so much cuter the vlog like I called it!) and let me know what you think.
ReplyDeleteI love your vlog!!
ReplyDeleteFirst, you are gorgeous!!
Not at all how I pictured you, but not in a bad way.
And Goosey Night? I've never in my life heard of that. But, I'm from Alabama I could probably tell you some crazy things we call stuff :)
I guess I thought you'd have more of an accent. I thought Jersey was kinda like Boston, everyone talks the same. LOL. Guess not!
ReplyDeleteAnd what the heck is Goosey Night? In Ohio they had Beggar's night which was the night you went trick or treating. I thought that was dumb. Where I grew up we went out on the 31st regardless of what day of the week it was!
I love how you said "both"
ReplyDeleteLOVED this!! I had several comments but then I saw you had over 50 comments so I am sure I will be repetive, but being from Tennessee, I second that spitting image could be "spittin image." And, for the record, I dont say that! Also, I have always called "tping" a house "rolling" a house. Enjoyed hearing your talk. I dont think you have an accent at all!
ReplyDeleteI have loved all the accent clogs - so fun! What the heck is a goosey night?
ReplyDeleteI think this vlogging thing is so fun! (well when other people do it its fun, when I do it, its awkward and embarrassing and just plan odd) I loooove that we can see your tattoo throughout the video, I sooooo want a wrist tattoo, and yours makes me want it more!
ReplyDeleteFIrst of all, how pretty is your hair?! Jealous! And thank you for thinking buggy is a cute word to use... I definitely say that and have seen at least two vlogs mention how much that annoys them :)
ReplyDeleteI was born in North Jersey, moved to South Jersey, moved to Maryland and now I'm in South Jersey. Twice a day, I must get.. "are you from up North". I don't get it. Either way, you sound regular to me!! I have no idea what a "Jersey accent" is.
ReplyDeletehahaha when you said "Hey guys" the first thing I thought of was the Goonies! And then you mentioned it... fabulous! :-)
ReplyDeleteI looooved this. You are way more serious than I imagined. When I read your blog I always think that you're laughing half the time, but you are an endearing sarcastic/witty. It's a compliment - as in, I was laughing out loud watching and thinking "I so want to have a drink with her!"
ReplyDeleteMust be a northern thing, I'm from Long Island and I agree with all your answers (except 'tennies' wtf? LOL). And no crazy Long Island (or should I say Lawn Guyland) accents here! Oh and the bug one. I am not even sure what the question is asking about!
ReplyDeleteLoved this! You sounded nothing like I expected! ha But I enjoyed your "both" "Goosey night and cabbage night" !! I am about to post mine!
ReplyDelete
